Staying Motivated

Staying motivated to workout is something that we all struggle with from time to time. I know this because I go through it just as much as others. We make up excuses, we don’t see results, or just plain don’t have the time or aren’t willing to make the time to workout. So here are some ideas to help keep you and others around you on track and motivated.

  • Convenience, Convenience, Convenience

Okay let’s be honest, we have all given ourselves excuses why we can’t workout such as; I don’t have a gym membership, I don’t know what to do, I’m not as strong as those meatheads or any other form of excuse we can think of at the time. Most people think we aren’t going to put ourselves through a workout. I always try to use stuff that is around me and easy to access. You can use a park, your driveway, the garage, your living room or even your back yard to do some workouts. If you live in an apartment use the onsite gym you have access to, it’s FREE!!! Most of us have full access to the Internet, where you can find plenty of ideas of workouts to use. My suggestions would be try out local websites with weekly posted workouts such as myignitefitnesstraining.com or HIIT Fusion Online Gym http://myignitefitnesstraining.com/hiit-fusion-online-gym/  where we take the thinking out of the equation. Social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest are a great resource… YOU have to be there to put in the work! So be creative and use what is convenient to you.

  • Find Something You Enjoy

Working out doesn’t have to be miserable. Mix up your routine a bit from time to time. Throw in some extra cardio or try something new that you have wanted to experience. What I like to do from time to time is change up my scenery and my workouts. I will add Yoga in my weekly workouts from time to time or link up with a friend and try their workout for the week. Finding something that you enjoy doing will help make it not feel like work and you will find yourself wanting to go! We all know we never want to be stuck in a rut, feeling miserable about our workout that we just did last week or few days ago.

  • Track your Progression

Keeping track of your progress is a great way to keep yourself motivated. It will also keep you accountable of your progress. You can track your workouts based on how many reps, sets and weight you preform through the days and weeks. Some of the best things you can track are your body weight, body fat percentage and measurements. Watching your measurements and seeing the results you want is for sure going to keep you motivated!

Remember you are not alone in your journey and we all need something or even someone to keep ourselves motivated. So be creative, use what you have access to and keep track of your progress. Don’t forget, Put in the Work every time!
